Dr Belinda Coker, Founder of Your Trusted Squad

Hi, I'm Belinda.

I started Your Trusted Squad to bring you the best quality information on trying to get pregnant and help make your life easier whilst you are on this journey. I aim to save you time, help you manoeuvre all the numerous services and systems, empower you to understand your body better and provide you with support for self care.

I am an experienced GP and Medical Director. Over the last 5 years , I have worked with numerous digital health companies that have developed or built apps, gadgets or online healthcare services. I work to ensure the services or products are safe, of good quality and the customer receives a good experience. I also have vast experience in remote GP consultation services (by video, online or by phone).

I am also a patient with the chronic health conditions endometriosis and adenomyosis which have had a profound effect on my personal and professional life, because as well as living with pain and intermittent fatigue since childhood, I have also endured a long and difficult history of infertility and recurrent miscarriage for nearly a decade.

I've worked long hours including evenings and weekends so I've increasingly used remote healthcare services and health apps over the years to help me manage my health alongside my work. I have personally found that they serve an important need and wanted to help others realise the potential of these products and services and do so in a way that was safe.

Starting from the beginning. I completed my medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine at St Mary’s. I spent three years training and  in obstetrics, gynaecology and sexual health at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and spent two further years working in family planning, sexual health and gynaecology. I and have also worked in a number of  specialties within London hospitals and community clinics before becoming a GP.  A year after qualifying as a GP, I  started to work in healthcare management (service design, patient experience and safety) alongside my GP work, initially on my days off.  I then worked in healthcare commissioning and service design in Bexley, Kent.

I completed an Executive MBA programme in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design at Imperial College Business school. Since then, I have been a senior leader, Executive Board Director and Medical Director specialising in quality assurance and clinical safety. During the whole time I have worked as a part time GP in South East London.

Currently, I am on the Clinical Advisory Board of Daye, a Board Trustee for Ambient and on the Core Team of One Healthtech.

I live in London with my amazing husband, practice yoga, love delicious food and spending time with family and friends.

Honesty and integrity in my work is important to me and those that know me professionally and personally will vouch for that. These values will be reflected in Your Trusted Squad.

Thanks, take care and be safe.
